Baxter International, Inc. has temporarily suspended production of heparin, a blood-thinner, due to reports of allergic reactions, including four deaths, primarily in patients undergoing kidney dialysis and heart surgery. Heparin, a generic drug, is widely used in hospitals and dialysis centers.
